FAQS

What are your rates?

55-minute Initial Intake and Assessment is $250

55-minute Therapy session is $200

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

I do offer a discounted rate for people who are self-pay.  For the self-pay discount, each session must be paid for as it occurs.  Insurance will not be billed.

Do you offer complimentary consultations?

Yes! Email KHutchins@cfpsmn.com to schedule a 15 minute phone consultation with me where we will talk about what you are looking for, ask questions and decide on next steps.

How do I make an appointment with you?

Please call 320-255-0343 to schedule a therapy appointment with me.

Do you offer appointments during the evenings and/or weekends?

I typically offer appointments during daytime hours, Monday – Thursday.

How often will we meet?

This varies, but usually clients begin with weekly sessions.

How long will I need to be in counseling?

This varies based on each client’s situation, and what their goals for counseling are. Some of my clients have worked with me for a few months, and some have been with me for years (sometimes off and on) as needed. I believe counseling is a normal part of a holistically healthy life.

What if you don't take my insurance?

Some insurance plans will reimburse you for services even with providers who are not in-network. I provide monthly superbills for this purpose and can submit the bill to your insurance company for you as well. However, some insurance companies or plans will not. I suggest contacting your insurance company and asking them prior to reaching out to me. Otherwise, you can opt for private pay.

What insurances do you accept?

I am an in-network provider for the following insurance plans:

  • HealthPartners
  • Cigna
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota
  • United Healthcare
  • Optum
  • Medicaid
  • Medical Assistance

I am considered an out-of-network provider for other insurance plans. If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance company may reimburse you for a portion of the cost of therapy.  If this is the case, I will provide a monthly invoice (usually called a superbill) to you which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, or if you prefer, I can submit it for you.

Check with your plan directly to verify your coverage. You may be asked for the CPT code in order to verify reimbursement rate. The CPT code for the Initial Intake is 90791 and the CPT code for 55-minute individual sessions is 90837.

How do I pay for services?

If you are using insurance, I use a third party billing company to submit insurance claims following each session. Bills are sent to clients after insurance has processed the claims.

Payment is due at time of service for self-pay. I accept debit or credit cards, Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards, or Health Savings Account (HSA) cards. Payment will be processed through my HIPAA-secure practice management system.
