“Nothing is so strong as gentleness, nothing so gentle as real strength.”

SAINT FRANCIS DE SALES

ARE YOU…

feeling disconnected from the people you are closest to, or even feel disconnected from yourself?

feeling like you are on the outside: Of your family, your coworkers, even your friends?

having trouble remembering a time when you felt truly loved?

feeling like you have lost yourself somewhere along the way, not recognizing who you are anymore?

take care of everyone except yourself?

feeling like you are just trying to get through each day?

DO YOU WANT TO FEEL…

  • more joy, contentment and ease
  • like you can show up authentically, as who you truly are
  • more connected to yourself and others
  • confident in your ability to cope with life’s challenges,
  • more whole, and stable

“Karen will provide you with a gentle and supportive nudge towards becoming your very best version of yourself. She has a calming demeanor and a gift for listening.”

THERESE MEYER, MA, LMFT

Taking with Karen helps me to process things on my mind and gives me another perspective to my problems.  I feel at peace with my decisions after talking them through with Karen.  I always feel better after talking with Karen.

AREAS OF FOCUS

  • Anxiety (maybe you feel it your body–stomach problems, muscle tension, trouble sleeping?)
  • Trauma (addressing all kinds–“little t”, “big T”, everything in between–often utilizing EMDR therapy)
  • Highly Sensitive Persons/HSPs (recognizing your depth of processing, learning self-care strategies to avoid overwhelm and calm your senses, seeing it as a strength, and helping with coping and discovery)
  • Self esteem recognizing your strengths and replacing comparison to others with self-compassion

MY APPROACH

  • Person-centered therapy built on three core concepts:
        • Unconditional positive regard for you
        • Genuineness from me.
        • Empathy for you, always.
  • EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a highly effective approach for trauma, negative beliefs, or really, anything that keeps you feeling “stuck” (click here to learn more about EMDR)
  • Mindfulness, breath work, and other grounding activities, to reduce racing or negative thoughts, and calm anxiety.
  • Compassionate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – I assist with exploring your thoughts and feelings with curiosity, compassion, and empathy.  CBT can help you learn better ways to cope with stress, and develop a greater sense of confidence in your abilities.
